Today we’re going to get into a topic that we’ve touched on before from a scientific perspective, that of transhumanism. However, we are going to move into the topic from the perspective of both a social and political movement.
Transhumanism has a potential audience of 7+ billion people. It’s one thing to have a few billionaires have access to them, but another thing for them to become readily available for all of us one day, and that takes political movement and will.
Transhumanism
Transhumanism is an international philosophical movement that advocates for the transformation of the human condition by developing and making widely available sophisticated technologies to greatly enhance human intellect and physiology.
Transhumanist thinkers study the potential benefits and dangers of emerging technologies that could overcome fundamental human limitations as well as the ethical limitations of using such technologies.
One of the core transhumanist theses is that human beings will eventually be able to transform themselves into different beings with abilities so greatly expanded from the current condition as to merit the label of “posthuman beings.”
The mission of the U.S. Transhumanist Party is “Putting Science, Health and Technology at the Forefront of American Politics.”
The three core ideals of the U.S. Transhumanist Party are that they: support significant life extension achieved through the progress of science and technology; support a cultural, societal, and political atmosphere informed and animated by reason, science, and secular values; finally, support efforts to use science, technology, and rational discourse to reduce and eliminate existential risks to the human species.
Johannon Ben Zion
Today’s guest is Johannon Ben Zion, Founder and Chair of the Arizona Transhumanist Party, as well as the U.S. Transhumanist Party Presidential Candidate in the 2020 election. His campaign slogan is “Radical Life Extension Is Closer Than You Think.”
Ben Zion is a career educator, STEM curriculum developer, business trainer as well as a biotech entrepreneur focused on developing boutique products in the field of microbial biosynthesis.
He has created a Futurist New Deal which includes a platform on healthy longevity and provides free Wi-Fi for all as well as enhanced e-government technologies, banning fossil fuel imports, and a variety of other items we will get into.

About his background, how he became interested in technology, politics and transhumanism. Why he is deciding to run in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. What he considers to be the most important aspects of transhumanism and the kinds of impacts it could have upon the world.
