Dr. Pramod KUMAR ( M.Phil Physics & Ph.D.-Laser Tech.),  is the Principal Scientist and Research team leader at QuantLase Imaging Laboratory, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.  Recognizing the value of Laser technology for healthcare and research, Dr. Kumar champions  its study. He invented the ”Laser-based DPI technology (Diffractive Phase Interferometry)”, a novel advanced technique  to screen and detect COVID-19 infection by examining tiny blood samples.

This technology allows the health authorities to carry out large-scale screening within a few seconds. Before joining the QuantLase Lab, Dr. Kumar joined AiFi Technologies LLC, UAEas a Senior Experimental Research ScientistQuantumPhysics (July 2019March 2020).

Lorna Harries is Professor of Molecular Genetics at the University of Exeter College of Medicine and Health. She gained her PhD in Genetics from University College London in November 1994 and now leads the RNA-mediated disease mechanisms group at the University of Exeter College of Medicine and Health. Her group has interests in alternative messenger RNA processing, non-coding RNA and epigenetic gene regulation in the context of ageing and chronic disease.

Professor Lorna Harries holds a personal chair in molecular genetics at the University of Exeter Medical School, where she leads the RNA-mediated disease mechanisms group, and a position as Co-Founder,  SENISCA (www.senisca.com).

Zabavskiy began drawing when he was in kindergarten but his fascination increased when he was older and able to draw humans and animals. His parents always encouraged him, especially his mother who worked at a film studio in Moscow. It was here that he became familiar with the cinematic arts. His grandfather, Arkadiy Zabavskiy, a student of Kazimir Malevich at Kiev Art Institute in the 1930s introduced him to his personal library. His vast collection of books contained visual information that, to the Soviet Union, was controversial and unwelcome at the time, much of it to do with Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, as well as German and American Expressionists art. It was eye opening to Vladimir and he was hooked.

Mohit Sodhi, BSc, MSc and MD candidate (2024) is a 2nd year medical student at the University of British Columbia. He is a seasoned researcher in pharmaco-epidemiology. He has published over 25 peer reviewed manuscripts, many of which are published in some of the top medical journals in the world including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Chest. His work has also been featured in several national and international media outlets including the New York Times, Yahoo News, Reuters, and the Daily Mail. During his master’s degree, he was also awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal, the most prestigious award a Canadian student can receive.
