Neil Koenig

Producer and journalist, former BBC Senior Producer

Neil Koenig is a highly experienced series producer, director, and journalist. He has worked in TV, Radio and online, on a wide range of news, current affairs, history, business, and other factual programmes.

 

Now freelance, he previously spent many years at the BBC where he devised, produced, and directed many series and documentary programmes for various BBC TV and Radio networks, as well as writing online articles for BBC News. He has extensive experience of working with high profile hosts and contributors, including leading politicians and Fortune 500 CEOs. He has also worked on location across the globe, including in challenging environments such as the Nevada desert and the Arctic.

 

Some examples of programmes that Neil has produced include: ‘The Bottom Line’ (business discussion series on BBC Radio and TV); ‘The Laboratory of Democracy’ (a history of American democracy); ’The Longest Road’ (series about the road stretching across Russia from St Petersburg to Vladivostok ); ’The Global Selloff’ (a history of privatisation); ‘The Ramp’ (following the construction of a multi-billion-dollar silicon chip fabrication plant); ’Quest for a Cure’ (the inside story of how Pfizer developed a drug to treat HIV); ‘One Square Mile’  (the tale of Silicon Valley’s ‘lucky’ building which launched startups such as Google and Logitech); and ‘China’s Billionaires Club’ (a look inside an extraordinary club for Chinese entrepreneurs).
