Ira Pastor, ideaXme life sciences ambassador, interviews Mr. Evgeni Borisov, CEO and Co-founder of Vimana Global Inc.
Ira Pastor Comments:
A flying car is a type of personal air vehicle, or “road able” aircraft, that provides door-to-door transportation by both ground and air, and was a popular theme in fantasy and science fiction stories throughout the early 20th century.
One of the first debuts of a flying car was that of Henry Ford, back in 1926, when he displayed an experimental single-seat airplane.
There were a lot of attempts over the 20th century, but activity has ramped up significantly in the early 21st century, and several groups have brought us close to the true flying car ideal: a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft that can hover, take off, and land vertically.
Vimana Global
Founded in 2015, Vimana Global Inc. (named after the mythological flying palaces or chariots described in Hindu texts and Sanskrit epics) is developing a hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) Autonomous Aerial Vehicle (AAV).
These Autonomous Aerial Vehicles are intended to address traffic congestion in urban areas by using airspace to move cargo throughout a city, allow first responders a way to get to a location quickly, and ultimately transport commuters.
Vimana’s AAVs will feature automatic compensation for adverse weather, coordinated flight paths with other AAVs, and the ability to detect objects. The design will use modular construction so that the parts can be shipped to dense urban areas and assembled on the spot where the AAVs are intended to be used.
Evgeni Borisov
Mr. Evgeni Borisov, is the CEO and Co-founder of Vimana Global Inc., and has more than seventeen years of corporate executive experience, including executive work at Toshiba and other deep tech companies.
Mr. Borisov leads Vimana’s vision for an Autonomous Dynamic Airspace System global roll-out for transportation of both cargo and passengers.
The “Airspace-as-a-Service” infrastructure VIMANA is developing makes all aerial vehicles communicate via a proprietary protocol based on distributed UAS Traffic Management (D-UTM) that enables low-altitude airspace to be used globally as a novel transportation infrastructure and transaction network.
Mr. Borisov obtained degrees economic and technical sciences from The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, and Ukhta State Oil & Gas University.
On this episode with will hear from Mr. Borisov about:
His background, how he conceived of this unique project and it’s long-term vision. About Vimana Global Inc., including the founders, idea, mission, and goals. A market overview for Autonomous Aerial Vehicles. Current Autonomous Dynamic Airspace System pilot programs in Russia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland. Next steps, corporate partnerships, and investment plans.
